The Front

What is The Front?

The Front is an open world survival game with shooter elements developed by Samar Studio. It takes you into an alternate timeline in which a totalitarian regime rules the world. You play a resistance fighter who escapes captivity and takes up the fight against overwhelming odds.

At the core of the game are survival, crafting and base building. You gather resources, set up workshops and entire production chains, build vehicles and manufacture weapons and equipment. Your base can be secured with walls, turrets and traps – which matters, because the regime maintains outposts and camps across the open world that you can attack and that strike back.

On top of that sits a classic survival layer: hunger, thirst, temperature and equipment wear keep you moving while you explore the map, secure resources and expand your stronghold step by step. Progress comes from better tools, larger production facilities and stronger gear.

On your own server you decide how you play together: you can run your world as a pure PvE server where everyone fights the regime side by side, or enable PvP and make other players' bases attackable. Progress is stored permanently on the server, even while nobody is online.

The Front launched into Early Access in 2023, supports single player as well as multiplayer on a shared server and is available on PC via Steam.
