What is Sons Of The Forest?

Sons Of The Forest is an open-world survival horror game by Endnight Games and the successor to The Forest. You are sent to a remote island to find a missing billionaire – and quickly discover that the island is ruled by cannibalistic tribes and mutated creatures. What starts as a rescue mission turns into a fight for survival.

The core of the game is gathering, crafting and base building. You fell trees, put up shelters, set traps and secure your camp against attacks at night. The building system allows very free constructions – from a simple hut to a fully developed fortress with palisades, bridges and automated defences.

The island changes with the seasons, which makes gathering food and preparing ahead a permanent part of the game. Below the surface, extensive cave systems and bunkers hold equipment, weapons and clues about the backstory. Companions such as Kelvin and Virginia help you with tasks, collect resources or fight at your side.

Sons Of The Forest can be played solo or in co-op with up to eight players on a shared server. On your own server your world stays persistent even when nobody is online. The game is available on PC via Steam.
