Nightingale
What is Nightingale?
Nightingale is a survival crafting game by the Canadian studio Inflexion Games. You play a Realmwalker: a traveller who was cut off from humanity when the portal network collapsed and is now stranded in the Fae realms. From there your journey leads across countless worlds back to the fabled city of Nightingale, the last safe haven.
The game world is not a single map but an open chain of realms that you create yourself. Using Realm Cards that you combine at a portal, you decide the biome, difficulty and properties of the next world – forest, swamp or desert, for example, enriched with special resources or additional dangers. Every portal therefore leads into a new, individually assembled world.
The core of the game is gathering, crafting, base building and combat. You build shelters in Victorian gaslamp fantasy style, set up workshops, improve your equipment and face the creatures of the realms – from roaming beasts to the mechanical Bound. How far you can push into more dangerous realms depends on your crafting and how well you develop your base.
Nightingale can be played solo or together in co-op. On your own server your realms persist even when nobody is online, and you can continue playing together at any time. The game launched into Early Access in 2024 and is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
