Icarus

What is Icarus?

Icarus is a session-based PvE survival game developed by the New Zealand studio RocketWerkz. Players drop onto a hostile alien planet as so-called "Prospectors", where a toxic atmosphere makes every unprotected moment potentially fatal. The game combines classic survival elements with a mission system that turns every trip to the surface into a dedicated expedition with a clear goal and a time limit.

At the core of the experience are "Prospects" – missions lasting anywhere from one to eight hours depending on their scope. Players gather resources, build shelters, craft tools and weapons and harvest valuable exotic materials, which they must return to orbit once the mission is complete. Staying too long or dying means losing the progress of that run.

The world of Icarus features diverse biomes – from snow-covered mountains to dense forests – populated by wild animals, shifting weather events and demanding technological challenges. Alongside solo play, Icarus supports co-op matches for up to eight players who can tackle tougher missions together.

Icarus is especially appealing for players who prefer structured survival sessions with clear objectives, risk management and co-op gameplay. The game is available on PC via Steam.
