Project Zomboid
What is Project Zomboid?
Project Zomboid is an isometric open-world survival horror game developed by The Indie Stone. It is set in the fictional Knox County in Kentucky, which has been placed under quarantine after a zombie apocalypse. In a richly simulated world, players must survive for as long as possible – the game's underlying tagline being: "This is how you died."
At the heart of the game are deep survival mechanics including hunger, thirst, fatigue, injuries, mental health and illnesses. Players loot houses for resources, craft equipment, build up bases and train numerous skills that improve their chances of survival. The world is fully destructible, and food decay, power outages and the progressing scenario create an ever-changing environment.
Project Zomboid supports solo play as well as co-op multiplayer on dedicated servers with extensive mod support via the Steam Workshop. Players can build settlements together, share resources and face the zombie hordes, while the world can be adjusted almost arbitrarily through configurable settings and mods.
Project Zomboid is aimed at fans of demanding survival games focused on realism, long-term playability and role-playing elements. The game has been in long-running Early Access and is available on PC via Steam.
